Cap_and_diploma
Applying for an MBA! Check out the information of doing so with some less headaches and stress.

As we enter September, many of our global readers are currently asking poignant questions concerning the complexities of an MBA education as a strategic tactic to career management. Although an excellent gambit in career change you don’t need an iPhone nor do you need to contemplate joining an American baseball team fighting it out for the World Series. Americans may be passionate about baseball, but they are equally passionate about their career success. Clearly passion and success are not exclusives to the USA. Everyone wants to foster his or her careers to maximize opportunity.

This summer, I visited many of the major Ivy League campuses and attended information sessions at the undergrad and grad levels. The audiences were not strictly American. In fact, they were quite cosmopolitan in their make-up. Some of the best info sessions were held at Yale, Princeton, and Dartmouth.

Doctor_of_education
Looking for Ivy league online eduction? Well check out what this ivy league school is now offering.

In what could be a watershed moment for online education, Dartmouth College has announced it will combine professors from its highly rated Tuck School of Business (ranked 7th by U.S. News) and its Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice to launch a new, mostly online, master's program designed to prepare mid-career healthcare leaders for the future of their profession. Dartmouth's program aims to help health professionals be ready for whatever may be on the industry's horizon. The 18-month Master of Healthcare Delivery Science program will launch next July. "We don't know how the entire industry is going to reorganize," says Robert Hansen, senior associate dean and professor at Tuck. "All we can do is prepare them for change."

Top M.B.A. Programs Embrace Online Education

Online_phd
Online Education is on the rise due to our fast paced world. Check out which schools are now offering online education. This just may be the answer to your educational needs.

For-profit schools, particularly large online colleges like the University of Phoenix and Kaplan University, have garnered a tremendous amount of attention in recent years. As the schools seek to reach more students through aggressive advertising campaigns—University of Phoenix has a $154 million naming rights deal for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals' stadium—and politicians continue to push for more stringent industry regulations, efforts made by other schools in the online sector can go seemingly unnoticed. For-profit schools are not accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which is regarded as the benchmark for business school quality among the academic community, experts say.

However, several traditional business programs accredited by the AACSB, some highly ranked, have made the push into the online realm in recent years. Business programs at the University of North Carolina, Pennsylvania State University, Indiana University, and the University of Florida, among others, offer M.B.A.s online comparable to the ones they've long offered on campus. School officials note that the smattering of online M.B.A. programs offered by brick and mortar schools today represents a genesis of business schools adopting online programs, not the peak. "[Other schools] are trying to find out how we do what we do," says Terrill Cosgray, executive director of Kelley Direct—the online program established by the University of Indiana's Kelley School of Business that admits more than 200 students a year. "It appears there are a lot of programs that are exploring the option of an online program."

Colleges should stop imitating Harvard

Ivy_league
See why colleges should do their own thing and not try to imitate Harvard. Harvard is expensive and with today's economy things are getting more and more expensive. With education costing more these days the more colleges should try to keep their cost at a minimum and not put the average student out in the cold, educationally speaking.

Is college an invaluable waste of time? You bet. But it's about to get even more valuable.

It's great to see capable people debating the value of higher education. Earlier this month, Dale Stephens, a 19-year-old entrepreneur who has won a $100,000 Thiel Fellowship, wrote that "College is a waste of time." One can argue that Dale is too young -- and too extraordinarily intelligent -- to be a good judge of the value of college to the average person. But if students like Dale, the kind that the best schools want to attract, are dissatisfied, that can't be good. Anyhow, Dale's description of college as a place of conformity, competition and regurgitation strikes an uneasy chord with some of us older, more-ordinary folk.

Harvard University, ranked the best in the world – has seen the number of applications from Britain rise by more than a third in just 12 months, figures show.

It is believed that the cap on places for home students at English universities – coupled with the prospect of £9,000 fees from next year – is fuelling the rise.
